Bodoland University Admissions 2023 are open now. Students can apply for admission through official website. Bodoland Unversity PhD applications started on December 12, 2022. Last date to apply for PhD applications is January 10, 2023. 

Bodoland University was established under the Bodoland University Act 2009 in Kokrajhar, Assam. The university was formerly the campus of Gauhati University in Kokrajhar, which was later established as a state university in itself. The University aims at providing education and development to students by overlooking all divisions based on caste, race, religion, etc. The institute provides educational and research scopes through theoretical and practical approaches to learning. The university aims to make BTAD (Bodoland Territorial Region of Assam) a research and education hub. The institution has also attracted international students for research work. Bodoland University courses at present offers M.A, M.Sc., M.C.A., M.B.A., M.Com., PhD, and Diploma as well as Bodoland University certification course. 

Indira Gandhi PG Scholarship for Single Girl Child:

This scholarship program aims at recognizing the efforts of a family to educate their girl child beyond graduation. It also recognizes having smaller families and promoting literacy among the children.

This scholarship applies to girl students who have enrolled in post-graduation courses and are their family's only child.

Slots available for this scholarship are 3000 and the age limitation is 30 years.

The scheme does not cover postgraduation through distance education.

The scholarship provides a sum of INR 36,200 for the entire duration of the postgraduation course.

Procedure for applying for the scholarship:

• The intimation of the application process will be uploaded yearly on the e-Scholarship portal of the Government of India and also on the official website of UGC
• The candidates must complete the application process with all data and documents
• The application may require presenting an affidavit as a proof of being a single child
• The applicant will also need to fill and submit a joining report

PG Scholarship for University Rank Holder Certificate:

The Scholarships aim at motivating talents and merit in academics. This recognizes meritorious students of undergraduate courses who are enrolling in postgraduation programs. This also promotes opting for basic courses as it does not cover professional courses. This scholarship encourages merit and academic excellence in Postgraduation.

Slots available for this scholarship are 3000, and the age limit is 30 years.

The scheme does not cover postgraduation through distance education.

Undergraduate courses under the specialization of Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Earth Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Social Sciences, Commerce, and Languages are covered under this scheme.

The amount of INR 3,100 is granted for the entire duration of the postgraduation course.

The candidate must submit a duly filled rank certificate and joining report for applying for the scholarship.

The fellowship amount will be disBUrsed through Direct Benefit Transfer mode by the UGC.

Ishan Uday Special Scheme for North Eastern Region

The scheme of scholarship is for the residents of India's North-Eastern region. They have passed class 12th examination in the North-Eastern region from any recognized board, including the Central Board of Secondary Education, the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education, the National Institute of Open Schooling, etc.

Eligibility criteria:

• This scholarship is granted for enrolment in general degree courses, technical courses, and professional courses in medical and paramedical fields from any recognized university or college
• This scholarship is granted to first-year undergraduate students.
• The student’s family income must not exceed the amount of INR 4.5 lakhs per annum
• The students under Open Universities will be excluded from the scheme
• A student already availing of any other scholarship while pursuing an undergraduate course will be excluded from the scheme
• Students taking admission through the management quota will be excluded from the scheme

Amount of scholarship:

General Courses: INR 5,400

Technical and Professional Courses, including medical and paramedical courses: INR 7,800

The amount is disBUrsed through the Direct Benefit Transfer mode

Mode of application:

The advertisement or notification for the scholarship is circulated through newspaper prints, employment news, and the official website of UGC as a short notification. The complete application could be made through the online method where the students have to submit the joining report proforma for fresh awardees, the affidavit, and other relevant documents.

PG Scholarship for Professional Course for SC/ST Candidates

For the Scholarship, the following eligibility criteria are to be fulfilled:

• The candidate should be from the SC/ST category
• The candidate must be enrolled in a professional course
• The candidate must be in the first year of the post-graduation degree program
• The candidate must be enrolled into a recognized university or institution (as per the specifications given by the committee granting scholarship)

More than 1000 SC/ST students will be granted the scholarship

The amount disbursed for M.E. and MTech students is INR 7,800 per month for the entire duration of the post graduation course

For students enrolled in professional courses, the scholarship amount is INR 4500 per month for the entire duration of the course

How to apply for the scholarship:

• The students are to visit the official website and click on apply now
• They need to read the guidelines provided carefully before moving forward with the application
• The students will need to fill up personal details such as domicile, category, scholarship type, and other relevant details.
• The students will also be required to fill up their bank account details to disburse the scholarship amount.
• The Aadhaar number or bank account number will be required for verification.
• They will need to register and verify the identity using OTP generated to the mobile numbers.
• After the application, the applicant will be provided with an application ID and password.

Minority Girls Scholarship

The minority girl’s scholarship has the following set of eligibility criteria:

• The girl child should be educated in Assam
• The girl child should be a resident of Assam
• The girl child should belong to a minority community (Muslim, Buddhist, Jain, Sikh, Christian, and Parsis)
• They should have secured more than 50% in their latest degree or board examination
• The family income of the girl child should not exceed the amount of INR 1 lac per annum
• The student must have studied in India from class 1 to 10 under government institutions or eligible private schools

Bodoland University offers over 15 courses under 7 departments. The university offers undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses in Humanities, Science, Commerce, Computer Application, and Business Administration. The university also offers research opportunities with M.Phil. and Ph.D. courses. Apart from degree courses, the university also provides certification and diploma courses that range from 6 months to 2 years.

Bodoland University offers several courses and specializations, and each requires a specific set of academic records and eligibility. Thus, before proceeding with the application for any course, the candidate should visit the official website for all relevant information regarding eligibility criteria, duration, fee structure, etc. 

The candidate can visit the campus and fill in the required details by purchasing the application forms. The applicant will need to fill up personal details and the details required to validate the eligibility for the desired course. After filling up and submitting the application forms, if the candidature is found applicable for the further process, the candidate will be contacted to appear for entrance exams (if any) or the counselling process. Upon completing all assessment processes, the university releases merit lists and proceeds with further admission formalities for the shortlisted candidates. 

For online application, candidates will have to pay Rs.700/- (Rupees Seven Hundred only). On submission of acknowledgement receipt after 18-07-2022, candidates will be provided a hard copy of the prospectus for the session 2023-24.
